This dress is so not my style at all and yet I loooove it so much. Its surprisingly comfortable for how binding it is. I've just gotta get a little more confidence when it comes to showing off my ~curves~

Nuuuuuudes

I first started getting into vintage Playboy about two years ago. I just love them so much. Say what you will about the corporation these days, but 1960's and early 1970's Playboy are just perfect. No airbrushing, no explicit or degrading sexuality, just beautiful photography of adorable girls.

I need to start updating this thing more often!!

I hate to admit it, but I really am kind of in love with Las Vegas. And I don't think it's just the weather and my love of lounging by a pool. I think I am genuinely attracted to the complete and utter cheese and tackiness of it all. And going along with this embarrassing theme, a huge part of me absolutely adores Nomi Malone AKA Elizabeth Berkley in Showgirls. I should really hate Showgirls. I should really be disgusted by it. I see and understand that the movie is a horrible, exploitative piece of shit but I just love it. It's hilarious and lets be honest, Nomi has some style. Look at those nails! The shorts! I am not at all about the whole 1990's resurgence fashion has seen lately but I really have a weakness for the tiny cut-offs, bra exposing top and boots combo that Nomi wears throughout the movie. It's really too bad that I look about 12 and I will probably always be more "little girl sexy" rather than cut off shorts and fake nails sexy. And I'm fine with that and wouldn't have it any other way. I suppose I will just continue not so secretly loving and admiring it.

leg liberation

I wish San Francisco was like the rest of this country and actually got warmer than 65 degrees during the summer season. All I want is to go sneak into a hotel pool or better yet, go swimming in the ocean. My love for this city grows an exponential amount during the very rare heat waves we are blessed with every so often. One occurred a week or two ago and I cannot even express how excited I was to not wear tights. Although most of my dresses and shorts are probably too short to wear without tights, I jump at the chance to peel off the restricting, and ugh, itchy black tights that are such a staple of my wardrobe. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate and value a good pair of tights, but day after day, night after night my legs ache to be able to breathe. Nick so wonderfully called it "leg liberation." I love that. So yes, all I wish for in the summer is a little leg liberation.

These are my favorite past summer photos, I hope that we get some more hot days so that I can dust off my polaroid and use that film that I spent so much on :(

Happy Birthday, America

The 4th of July. I have a strange relationship with this holiday but I am always down to dress up for it. I have pretty much designated one of my favorite and most dear-to-my-heart lucky dresses to be "the" 4th of July dress. Starting in 2007, probably the most amazing and fun-filled 4th of my life, the dress has remained the same each year. I just keep coming back to it. This very same dress has gotten me in trouble more times than I'd like to admit and has been there with me every step of the way for some of the best moments of my life thus far. So here is the introduction to my style: my favorite dress on this earth. I think it pretty much wraps up my style in one fell swoop: Impossibly short, incredibly girly and unmistakably vintage.
